Cranio Sacral

It has been revealed that, in addition to the heart and respiratory rhythms, there exists another rhythm extending from the cranium to the sacrum. This rhythm is a result of the production and absorption of cerebrospinal fluid and its flow through the spinal cord to the coccyx or sacrum. It manifests through the cyclical expansion and contraction of the skull bones and sacrum.
This therapy aims to enhance the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as improve various bodily systems, including digestion, musculoskeletal, respiratory, and circulatory functions.
During a CST session, when a practitioner lightly places their hands on you, they are essentially "listening" to your body, similar to how a counsellor listens to your words. Your body responds to this delicate touch by beginning to tune in to itself, which can help release blockages, alleviate stress, and alleviate compression that may disrupt the natural flow. This process enhances the body's innate healing capabilities.
Extra Information

Somatic Emotional
Release
SomatoEmotional Release (SER) is a therapeutic process rooted in the principles of CranioSacral Therapy (CST). It helps individuals gain insight into how suppressed trauma influences their physical and emotional health. Through SER, individuals can transition from dysfunction and unresolved issues toward improved well-being and optimal functioning. The efficacy of the SER approach has been well-demonstrated in assisting clients dealing with issues such as assault, trauma, sexual, emotional, or physical abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), childhood traumas, relationship challenges, and losses. Essentially, any experiences that have overwhelmed an individual's capacity to recover and heal fully can benefit from the principles and techniques of SomatoEmotional Release.

Contra-Indications
The most common side effect one may experience after a session is a mild discomfort which will normally fade away after 24-72 hours. However, with few conditions, CST may not be suitable such as: Brain Aneurysm, a recent whiplash, brain injury, head injuries which has resulted in bleeding or skull fractures and severe bleeding disorders. Cerebral swelling, Structural defects in the cerebellum such as Arnold-Chiari malformation. Blood clots. Any disorder that causes instability of cerebral fluid pressure, flow or build-up. Craniosacral therapy is not intended as primary healthcare but to work alongside the service provided by your doctor.

During a Session
The session begins with a discussion of your medical history, the purpose of your visit, your symptoms, any preexisting health conditions, your current medication regimen, and lifestyle factors that may be relevant to your current health concern. After this initial conversation, the client will be invited to lie down on a treatment table. The practitioner will then gently place their hands on the client's body, either from the head or shoulder and extending to other regions as needed. It's important to note that the practitioner may also focus on areas of the body beyond where the symptoms are localized, as the body functions as an interconnected system. The duration of the session typically falls within the range of 45 minutes to an hour, although it can sometimes extend beyond this timeframe, depending on the unique needs of each individual and their specific health condition.
